The seminar shall present Malta as an ideal location for trade and investment. Malta is more known as a tourist destination, but it has a thriving economy led by industrial, services and financial activities. Some of the operations include established international names and brands, all of which are running successful business activities from Malta.
Malta Enterprise, the national agency responsible for economic development provides a variety of support services aimed at assisting entrepreneurs in their decision making process. Additionally, Malta Enterprise administers a host of investment incentives including fiscal, financial and other tangible forms of assistance.
During the past four decades, Malta has notched up an impressive record of foreign direct investments, with various re-investments taking place in a variety of activities catering for both production and service facilities. A number of well known names like ST Microelectronics, Methode Electronics, Trelleborg, Actavis, Medichem, Playmobil, Lufthansa Technik and HSBC (Call Centre), are just a few of the most successful business undertakings.
Malta prides itself with a long tradition of international trade, manufacturing and service activities. Today the Country boasts an infrastructure and business environment which gives a variety of incentives to companies to encourage investment, growth and innovation, thus making Malta an ideal location for foreign direct investment. It is this vibrant economic development that we want to convey to Chinese companies and the various business opportunities that exist in investment or outsourcing prospects in Malta including regional offices and back office activities.
